Meet the maker

Hi! I am Elena, the designer and maker behind all things Ruby Melo. After studying to become an engineer, I spent a few years at an office job. I gradually became less and less happy, and yearned to spend less time at my desk in front of a screen and more time creating and working with my hands. And so, Ruby Melo was born.

The design & making process 

I design all products in house with one goal: to help people feel present and grounded at home. It is truly a one-woman band as I hand make all items in small batches in my home studio in London, although my partner sometimes comes to rescue when I need a hand!

A holistic approach to sustainability

I believe that buying less but buying better is key to a sustainable future, so I choose to create timeless designs of superior quality. I only work with Jesmonite and clay, two eco-friendly materials, and use minimal and biodegradeable packaging.
